Students will expand their vocabularies, do better on tests, and improve their grades with the help of this effective vocabulary program. VOCABULARY BUILDING FOR BETTER GRADES teaches students important skills for developing richer vocabularies. Word study activities and practice exercises help them understand the meanings of specific word parts and how they are used to form new words. The revised student activity text focuses on Greek and Latin roots, prefixes, and suffixes; on words deriving from them; and on analogies and synonyms. An expanded analogies section corresponds to the increased emphasis on such questions in the NewSAT. The teacher book now gives more material on suffixes and three reproducible units—Specialized Vocabulary, Foreign Expressions, and 100 Special Words—for expanding students' vocabulary program if desired.
