The passages include both fiction and nonfiction topics. Students enjoying reading about curricular and real-life topics such as "caught in the sprinklers"; "sneezing is good for you"; and "fire ants." Level 1 passages are divided into five readability levels (40 cards in each level): - 1.5 to 2.0
- 2.1 to 2.4
- 2.5 to 2.9
- 3.0 to 3.4
- 3.5 to 4.0
Level 2 passages are divided into six readability levels (33 or 34 cards in each level): - 4.0 to 4.4
- 4.5 to 4.9
- 5.0 to 5.4
- 5.5 to 5.9
- 6.0 to 6.4
- 6.5 to 6.9
