Portals to Reading

PORTALS TO READING is a series of reproducible literature based activities that should be an important part of every school’s reading program. The activities will reinforce a wide variety of language and reading skills which are generally part of the curriculum at the reading level of the novel.

The PORTALS pick-and-choose format gives you the final decision about which activities will enhance your students’ personal learning. The activities are based on sentences and paragraphs especially written to support the teaching objective of each lesson.

Each PORTALS teacher resource contains author information and a story synopsis as well as answer keys for all of the activities. Reproducible activity sheets deal with such skills as finding base words, discovering meaning through context, getting the main idea, making an outline, creating a character, writing a journal sample, and much more!

Each kit contains: 10 paperback novels and one reproducible teacher’s resource.
